1916Centenary Commemoration

Mrs Flynn welcomed everyone

Order of events 
  • Sarah O Hanlon and Scott O Reilly the oldest pupils in the school raised the Tricolour as the church bell struck 12.
  • The whole school sang the National Anthem.
  • Niamh Dolan and Ciarán Bevis read out the new Proclamation written by 5th and 6th class.
  • 3rd and 4th class and Mrs Fay prepared a Time Capsule. It contained the first page of todays Irish Independent, a selection of coins, a stamp, photos of staff and pupils and two local news items from the Anglo Celt. Brandon, Aidan and Aaron from 3rd class assisted by Killian Tully from 6th class dug the hole and buried it.
  • 5th and 6th class sang 'Grace' and the 'Galtee Mountain Boy'
  • 3rd and 4th class sang Oró sé do bheatha bhaile.
  • All classes took part in Céilí dancing which they have been learning for the past few weeks.
  • Guests were treated to tea and soda bread with jam by Mrs Finlay and Siobhán

Engineers Week 2016

We had a great response to Engineers Week this year. Fr Dan had a tough job selecting the winners as there were so many amazing entries. Here are the exhibits and below them you will find or winners.

Scoil Bhríde Parent Association






The next fundraising event will be an Easter Egg Hunt and cake sale which will take place at the school after 11am mass on Sunday 20th March.
All donations can be left into Scoil Bhríde before or after mass on Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th or to any committee member.
Free tea and coffee will be served during the egg hunt. All children must be accomanied be a parent/guardian during this event.
There will aslo be a raffle on the day and your support would also be greatly appreciated for this.
We are again requesting donations of Easter eggs for the hunt. We will be collecting the eggs on Tuesday 8th, Wednesday 9th, & Thursday 10th March at the school.
