The Daily Mile

All staff and children are participating in the Daily Mile this term.

At 11.45 each morning everyone makes their way outside to the yard to run or walk.

We measured our yard with a trundle wheel and if we walk around it 10 times it equals 1 mile.

Some children are wearing pedometers to measure their steps.

We will post our mileage and steps on our Health Promotion School notice board in the school.

Swimming Classes

Swimming classes for 5th & 6th Classes commence on Friday 3rd May in Cavan Swimming & Leisure Complex for a period of six weeks. 

The bus is leaving the school at 9.20 am sharp and children are asked to have their swimming costumes on to save time.

Happy Easter

School will close today for the Easter Holidays 

and will reopen on Monday 29th April.

We would like to wish you all a Happy Easter.

Educational Outings 2019

Infants to 2nd Classes are going on an educational outing to Mellowes Adventure Centre, Athboy, Co Meath on Friday 7th June.

The bus will depart from the school @ 9am sharp and return to school @ 3.00pm approx.

If bus is ahead or behind schedule a text will be sent to parents.

Children are asked to wear comfortable clothes, runners and a sun hat. 

Please send a packed lunch and drinks. 

Apply sun-cream if necessary.

3rd - 6th Classes are going to Baysports Water Park Athlone Co Westmeath on Tuesday 4th June.

The bus will depart from the school @ 9am sharp and return to school @ 4.00pm approx.

If bus is ahead or behind schedule a text will be sent to parents.

It is essential for children to remember 

to bring these following  items:

1. Swimsuit
2. Clothing & footwear

• Hat- sunhat/woolly hat (depending on the weather)
• Tracksuit bottoms, tee shirt, rain jacket and old runners/flip flops (for wearing into the water)
• Spare cotton socks for grip on the waterpark
• Dry clothes to wear home
• Plastic bag to put wet clothes into
• Towel
• Packed lunch and snack
• Sun cream
• Bottle of water

An Taisce's National Spring Clean

in conjunction with An Taisce's National Spring Clean

3rd and 4th class together with Mrs Fay and Siobhán took part in the annual spring clean today.

They collected rubbish from hedgerows and along the road.

They even found an old enamel pot which will get a makeover and we plan to plant some herbs in it.

Spelling Bee

Aidan in 6th class took part in the Eason Spelling Bee this year.

Well done Aidan.

Yarn Bombing with ICA Cavan

Thank you to Killeshandra ICA for displaying some knitting done by Scoil Bhríde Lost Stitches Knitting Club. The pupils were delighted to take part in this event on International Women's Day

FAI SPAR Primary 5’s competition

The FAI SPAR Primary 5’s competition takes place on  Tuedsay 2nd April in Cootehill.

Some pupils from the Scoil Bhríde will take part in this competition.
