Engineers Week

Engineers Week takes place from Monday 6th - Friday 10th March. We invite all children to participate. We encourage children to make an item using materials from the home i.e. cardboard, plastic containers, fabric or wood etc - no Lego, Knex or blocks please.
A prize will be given to the best project.

World Book Day

World Book Day is Thursday 2nd March. To celebrate this day we are encouraging all children to dress up as a character from their favourite book.
We kindly ask that children use homemade costumes or a costume that they may already have.
Thank you.
There is also a prize for the best costume.

Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Tuesday

Traditionally Shrove Tuesday is associated with pancakes being eaten. This was the last chance to eat rich foods before Lent, and an opportunity to use up all of the luxury foods such as butter and eggs which might go off during Lent.
Interesting facts:

  • In German-American populations Pancake Tuesday is also referred to as Fastnacht Day.
  • On Pancake Day in Lithuania they consume pancakes and donuts.
  • In Polish communities in the United States Pancake Day is Paczki Day, and they eat a traditional pastry called a paczki.

Mrs Finlay and Siobhán made pancakes for everyone in the
 school today.
They were enjoyed by all.

We welcomed all the Grandparents & Grand-friends on Wednesday 1st February. We had a short prayer service followed by singing, dancing and music from all the classes. Everyone enjoyed a cup of tea/coffee with some sandwiches kindly made by Bridie and some cupcakes made by 6th class.
The Grandparents & Grand-friends had a tour of all the classrooms and then got their photo taken before leaving the school.
Thank you to all who came. We had a wonderful afternoon.
Here are some photos of the day.
