HPS Flag

We are currently in our second year of applying for our Health Promoting School Fag.
Last year we focused on healthy eating and we updated our Healthy Eating Policy.  We also focused on the physical side and all classes were involved in different forms of exercise both on the yard and in the classroom on wet days.
We are delighted to say that our healthy eating campaign is still in force thanks to the efforts of staff, children and parents.

We will also be involved in the food dudes programme this year.

This term we are focusing on Oral Health. We will be conducting various experiments on the effects of sugar on teeth etc.

This year we are participating in Super Troopers with Laya Heathcare.
This is an exciting and free programme created by Laya healthcare along with teachers and a team of experts in the areas of psychology, nutrition, wellbeing and physical activity.
Its a great way for children and their families to become more active.
Your child will soon be receiving a Super Troopers Journal and a Family Wall Chart.

I think I'm eligible. How do I apply?

You may be asked by your childcare service to provide proof that you eligible to access funding. Contact details for your local CCC are available on the 'Childcare' section of our website http://www.dcya.gov.ie/

Welcome

As we settle into our new school year, we would just like to welcome you all back as Parents/Guardians of children in our school. If you are sending your child here for the first time, we hope that their time here will be very happy.

All children including the Junior Infants have settled in very well.

We have a few changes to our staff-Ms Gaffney got married over the summer, so she is now Mrs O’Dowd and Ms Young also got married and she is now Mrs O’Neill.
We would also like to welcome Mrs Celine Clarke who will be joining our staff.

We will be applying for our 3rd Green Flag which is for water next year and we are in our 2nd year of applying for Health Promotion School Flag.

There will be lots of interesting events happening in the school over the next year such as installing a hedgehog motel, Buddy Bench, Water Action Day, Peace Proms, etc so we will keep you updated on our progress on the Blog.

Tá suim agus bród mór againne in ár dteanga dúchais agus cuirimid béim ar an ábhar seo i Scoil Bhríde.

Déanaimid iarracht Gaeilge neamhfhoirmiúil a labhairt go minic tríd an lae.

Glacaimid páirt i Seachtain na Gaeilge gach bhliain le damhsa, amhráin, ceoil agus tráth na gceist.

Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sé.
