Cyberbullying talk

On Wednesday the 8th November Garda Edel Gilliland
came to Scoil Bhríde to talk to 3rd - 6th class about cyber bullying.
Edel spoke about bullying and safe use of internet.
They watched some slides
and then talked about them.
She talked about various types of cyber bullying through Internet, texts, Instagram, Facebook, snap chat and twitter.

A rule to remember is - Think 3 times before you post anything!
  • Is it appropriate?
  • Is it hurtful?
  • Is it embarrassing?
You are responsible for anything you post or comment on. You are NOT responsible for what someone else posts.

Annual Parent Teacher Meeting 2017

Re: Annual Parent Teacher Meeting 2017

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s)

Following the success of our parent teacher meetings in 2016, I wish to advise you that we have decided to continue the format for this school year.  I believe that this will help to alleviate the problem of parents queueing for a considerable length of time and often not getting the opportunity to speak with the class teacher.
The meetings will take place on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd November from 3.15pm to 5.15pm. You will be allocated a specific time.  I ask you to be punctual as each meeting is scheduled for ten minutes.

Your time will be forwarded to you next week.

Looking forward to your cooperation in this matter.

Pat Ryan has worked as a storyteller, writer and teacher for over three decades now. His practice has developed through the influences of family and friends in America, Ireland and Britain where he collected stories and studied storytelling all that time.  He draws on traditional stories and storytelling content, and the nature of his storytelling is conversational, informal, thoughtful, educational and great fun.

Goodbye Mrs Mc Govern and Mrs Clarke!

It is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to two of our wonderful teachers.
Mrs Mc Govern has been our beloved Resource teacher for 3 years and will now take up a position in Milltown N.S.
Mrs Clarke was our wonderful Job Share teacher for the past year and will now resume her post in the Convent of Mercy N.S Belturbet.
We presented both of them with cards, flowers and gifts on Friday 23rd June as we broke up for the summer holidays.
The staff and children will miss them both tremendously and we wish them all the best for the future.
