.In association with Killeshandra Tidy Towns and Scoil Bhríde's 4th Green Flag for Global Citizenship Marine Environment, children from the school participated in a competition called 'Most Imaginative Use of a Plastic Bottle' . The aim of the competition was to promote awareness of the impact of plastic on our environment and also highlight the importance of recycling properly. More than eight million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year. Plastic never biodegrades fully, but breaks down into tiny pieces, releasing toxic chemicals that end up in our food chain and water supply, creating a soupy mess of plastic. Well done to the Scoil Bhríde Green Team on their continuous work at reducing the use of plastic in the school as 98% of pupils now use reusable water bottles and lunch boxes - as opposed to cling film. .
Children were asked to come up with the most imaginative use of a plastic bottle and all of the exhibits were outstanding.
All participants received an acknowledgment of their entry butthe following winners were most outstanding.

Adrian Magee - Fun Element Prize a bat mobile.
