TUESDAY 24th MARCH 2020

Hello everyone,

As you will have heard from An Taoiseach this afternoon, schools will not be reopening this side of Easter and the situation will be reviewed then.

This worldwide situation is unprecedented and we are all adjusting to the "new normal".

In terms of homeschooling at the moment, we would suggest to carry on with the work we gave the children on Thursday 12th March.  The school book companies, Folens and Fallons have given free access to all primary school book titles many of which we use in our classes. These are fabulous tools to browse around and to use for revision in all subjects.  If you have access to a printer there are very useful printable worksheets also. See below for links to enter these sites:

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, teachers, parents and pupils can access the online versions of all CJ Fallon books for free. Simply click here and filter to your required title.

If you would prefer to access these directly, visit http://my.cjfallon.ie, click 'Student Resources', then filter to the title you require, making sure 'Online Book' is selected under 'Resources'.

The most important message we can give you at the moment is to do whatever is POSSIBLE in your own homes. We are aware of the limitations in a lot of homes when it comes to homeschooling.
We are offering SUGGESTED activities for you to try. Older children will be well able to browse the online content themselves if possible.
PLAY, READING and CONVERSATION are so important for your child/ren at this time.
Keep checking our blog for updates.

We commend the work being done by all essential service workers and health care staff in our school community and all around the country at this time.
Keep safe everyone and stay at home.
From all the staff at Scoil Bhríde.
